Prem Ratan Dhan Payo Box Office: PRDP 4th-fastest to Rs 100 cr in India; makes record abroad

Salman Khan’s film “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (PRDP)” has become Bollywood’s fourth-fastest Rs 100-crore grosser. The film has joined the list of the fastest grossers, along with Shah Rukh Khan’s “Happy New Year” and Aamir Khan’s “Dhoom 3”.

“Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” is smashing records at the overseas box office as well.

The family drama directed by Sooraj Barjatya has crossed the Rs 100-crore mark at the domestic box office within just three days of its release. Interestingly, the film entered the century club without the addition of the Sunday box office collection.

“#PremRatanDhanPayo Thu 40.35 cr, Fri 31.05 cr, Sat 30.07 cr. Total: ₹ 101.47 cr. Hindi version. India biz. EXCELLENT! (sic)” he added.

Salman’s film is now the fourth-fastest Rs 100-crore earner, after “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, “Dhoom 3” and “Happy New Year”.

With its third day (Saturday) box office collection, Salman’s film has shattered the lifetime box office collection records of movies like “Singh Is Bliing”, “Welcome Back”, “Gabbar Is Back”, “Baby”, “Dil Dhadakne Do” and “Piku”.

“Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” is also the fifth Rs 100-crore earner of 2015. “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, “Tanu Weds Manu Returns”, “ABCD 2” and “Baahubali” (Hindi version) have earned more than Rs 100 crore this year.

“PRDP” had the widest release — in more than 4,500 screens — in India and overseas — 1,100 screens — this year, and thus recorded the highest box office numbers right from the opening day.

From the overseas box office, the film has earned $3.87 million, which comes to approximately Rs 25.28 crore.

US box office: “PRDP” minted $1,075,300 (Rs 7.10 crore) in two days

UK box office: Salman’s film raked in $576,484 (Rs 3.82 crore)

UAE-GCC: From the Gulf region, “PRDP” minted a whopping $1,450,939 (Rs 9.6 crore)

Australia and New Zealand: In Australia the film garnered $178,864 (Rs 1.18 crore), while in the New Zealand box office it minted $71,374 (Rs 47.17 lakh).

Pakistan: The family drama minted $191,531 (Rs 1.26 crore) from the Pakistani box office

Worldwide box office

The worldwide box office collection of Salman’s film stands at Rs 127.05 crore. The film should cross Rs 150 crore mark at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns is still the king of this week raking almost 46cr in its second week across the country. Kangana Ranaut is the first woman to cross the 100cr club just on her own this year.

In second place is Welcome 2 Karachi raking in 7cr. We dont see this movie collecting more cash as the critics have written th emovie off.

In third place we have San Andreas, starring Dwayne the Rock Johnson. This is a pure action packed movie and if you are one of The Rocks fans then its a must watch otherwise dont.

Badlapur full Story movie review:

Sriram Raghvan’s Badlapur is a gritty revenge story that revovles around Raghu’s (Varun Dhawan) life who is married to Mishti (Yami Gautam) and has a son Robin. Raghu’s life takes a big turn when his wife and son are killed by Laik (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) during a bank robbery.

Raghu then seeks to avenge his innocent wife and son’s murder. When Laik is caught by the police for his crime, Raghu takes revenge by sleeping with Liak’s girlfriend Jhumli (Huma Qureshi), however, Raghu is still unsatisfied.

Laik is sentenced for 20 years imprisonment, but he come out of jail after serving 15 years’ time due to his medical condition. The story again takes interesting twist right till the end.

Varun Dhawan’s has given his best performance till date in Badlapur as he completely gets into Raghu’s character. Nawazuddin’s character is brilliantly written and he too has given his best. Though he plays a negative character, he manages to bring some light moments in this dark story.

Yami Gautam and Huma Qureshi have very little roles and have done a decent job, nothing exceptional.

Sriram’s has captured the dark side of the film brilliantly on his camera. Certain scenes can give you goose bumps. For example the scene where Raghu forces himself on Jhumli or a Raghu’s anger when he bangs the bloody hammer over and over again.

As the tile of them movie suggests ‘Don’t miss the beginning’ the first ten minutes of the movie get you involved right from the start and is definitely not to be missed. However, though the first half keeps you glued to your sets, the second half of the movie is dragged to its climax.

Badlapur is definately a must watch with a brilliant direction and amazing performances by Varun Dhawan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Trailer Release: Nana Patekar is back with Ab Tak Chhappan 2

Nana Patekar is undoubtedly one of the most intense actors of Bollywood.His 2004 movie Ab Tak Chhappan, a crime based drama where he played the role of Inspector Sadhu Agashe (Nana Patekar) from the Mumbai Encounter Squad did well at the Box Office and he claimed a lot of appreciation from the critics and his fans.
Inspector Sadhu Agashe is back with Ab Tak Chhappan 2. Directed by Ejaz Gulab and written by Nilesh Girkar, Nana Patekar will be seen essaying the same role in Ab Tak Chhappan 2 of encounter specialist.
This time Nana Patekar is on a mission to hunt down underworld dons Rawale, who operates from Bangkok and Rauf Lala from Mumbai.
The trailer is more intriguing and very dark than the previous film and the movie also features Vikram Gokhale, Gul Panag and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.
Ab Tak Chhappan 2 is release in the theatres on 27 February, 2015.
